Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
I don't think we'll see many changes from last weeks Europa League game.

I would go

Randolph
O'Brien - Tomkins - Burke - Page
Jarvis - Poyet - Cullen - Magnesen
Maiga - Lee

Spiegel, Hendrie, Oxford, Obiang, Noble, Parfitt-Williams & Gordon

Samuelsen?

Either way, would love to see him.get a game. Other than that I reckon that's about right.

He's in no way ready to play competitive football.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
Personally I'd play a stronger team than that but I've no idea what Bilic will do for this first leg. It likely depends if they rate the Maltese team much higher than the Andorran one.

I'd give Pask and Samuelsen a start after the Peterborough performance.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
I think we will play a stronger side than that. For me Maiga and Lee is almost like having no forwards but perhaps Croe is thinking Bilic won't quite have realised that yet. I really don't see Lee going much further than Luton Town....

This lad Samuelson seems to be highly rated and might be worth encouraging with another start to see how he copes. I only saw his highlights at Peterboro... He did get tired and give away the penalty despite media reports blaming Noble but does look class.

I'd like to see Burke at RB again and Oxford at CB but what do I know? And who is Magneson FFS? Have we signed someone I haven't heard about? I like Poyet too and surely Zarate will be fit by Thursday? Jarvis should figure too if we want to define his future.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
Pask played centre back did he not? and you would promote him over Burke and Oxford?

Both who have neither put a foot wrong in the first round game.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
Magnesen ha, yes silly me Samuelsen

Not sure we need to start a stronger side, the only player that for me deserves to drop out is Amalfitano.

Who would you play up front Willtell?

Zarate I have no idea how long he is out for but I wouldn't be rushing players back in pre-season when it isn't really needed.

These team isn't going to offer much more than Lusitanos to be honest and just in case I would have a slightly stronger bench, maybe give Obiang half hour off the bench for his debut.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
Everyone who has been in training for two weeks and hopes to play at Arsenal in less than a month should play.
These European games should be the preseason games for our first team from now on and we can mix and match as required in the non-competitive friendlies.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
People moaned and bitched about the young players not being given a chance under BFS and now want them dropped despite having played well.

Strange

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
I'd expect a couple more first teamers to start now the squad will be back training together as a group.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
I don't think it's that much of a step up in opposition to be honest.

Surely ALL the players hope to play against Arsenal.

Of course from the ones who have been training since the beginning the only one that has a realistic chance is James Tomkins I would think.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
Agree with Sven...start working with first team squad and bring on kids in the last 20-30 mins, more in the second leg

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
I'm with Croe here.
Amalfitano has not earnt a starting spot.
Not sure we need 4 defenders at home against this opposition.
Randolp
O'BrienTomkins Burke
Jarvis Poyet Cullen Samuelsen
Payet Lee Maiga

Could have Page instead of O'Brien

Subs
Speigel Oxford Noble Page Parfitt-Williams Kouyate Brown

I'm taking Zarate will not be fit in time
